We have a very exciting project in stealth mode. Cleo Networks is planning to build an innovative “first to market” global unified communications service called iBabel with VOIP to landlines + mobiles devices being a major part of the service offering. We're in the process putting together a very high-caliber team and we want to start with a superstar. With the selected individual build a team around us. Ideally, you will have more than 5 years of experience from working at start-ups to sophisticated multi-tier telecommunications systems projects, specifically with VoIP. You must be a VoIP engineering dynamo were you are not chasing the evolution of VoIP, you are the evolution and others are scrambling to keep up with you. What *is* required is a razor-sharp intellect, well-developed sense of humour, and a passion for doing great work with a great team.
We are looking for a VOIP telephony specialist with extensive experience using SIP. The chosen candidate will be an experienced VOIP to PSTN senior specialist who will be responsible for designing and working hands to implemented a mass market VoIP service on a global scale. The candidate extensive knowledge of multiple technologies and platforms including: Softswitch, Application Server, Media Gateway, IP Transfer Point, Session Border Controllers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and Implement a SIP based VOIP to Phone mass market communications system
- Diagnose and fix software defects in MGCP/SIP/H.323 products
- Work closely with the core team to identify strategic intent of specific projects
- Conduct continual research of new technologies & protocols for ongoing improvements
- Perform ongoing system analysis to ensure adequate system capacity and performance

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
HARD SKILLS
- Languages: C/C++, Java, J2SE, J2EE, J2ME, SIP Servlet, JSLEE, XML
- Experience with VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP)
- Excellent knowledge of Voice Over IP (VOIP)
- Excellent Knowledge of SIP
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP & UDP
- Fully conversant in RTP/RTCP, RTSP, DNS, STUN and other packet-based telecom protocols
- Other Technologies: voice & video codecs, adaptive jitter buffer, full duplex acoustic echo cancellation, video codecs. Windows and Linux OS's
- Good Understanding of Firewalls, QoS, NAT Traversal: STUN, TURN, ICE
- Very good understanding of codecs - both voice & video
- Must have some knowledge of Peer to Peer principles
- Administering pre-paid and post-paid voice services an asset
SOFT SKILLS
- Should enjoy working with low level programming!
- A view on the big picture while paying attention to the smallest details.
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to work alone on key architecture & resolve issues quickly with the help of the community
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other teams.

EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years (preferably more) professional experience working hands on at a start-up to sophisticated multi-tier telecommunications systems projects, specifically with VoIP.
- Knowledge of best practice software development methodologies related to VOIP & mobile devices.

EDUCATION
- Masters Degree or higher in Computer Science
- Strong team-work, problem solving, and communication skills.
