This is an opening for a versatile interface designer/web front-end developer to work on a large and interactive Web 2.0 portal. The candidate will be responsible for designing and building the front-end layout and site architecture for a large interactive multimedia portal.The candidate will be responsible for designing and building the front-end layout and architecture for a large interactive multimedia portal. Candidate must be very proficient in UI and have an excellent understanding end-user logic for a site with many moving parts. The chosen candidate will be experienced in working on interactive portal environments and have an exceptional understanding of online social media. The person chosen for this position will work directly with a team of 4 to 6 developers who will rely on this person’s consistent delivery of pages with completed graphical design and front-end functionality.
The responsibility of creating pages that deliver an intuitive, functional and eye –catching web 2.0 experience rests on this person’s shoulders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as design lead on assigned projects
- Develop entire front-end site architecture with HTML, XML & CSS
- Code front-end inreactive interface functionality using JS & AJAX, JSP & other methods
- Work with Core Team to identify strategic intent of specific projects
- Conceptualize and develop innovative and strategically sound interface and architecture

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
HARD SKILLS
- HTML/XHTML, CSS, Javascript, XML & Flash
- Modern HTML/CSS layout techniques and good understanding of cross browser compatibility
- Latest DHTML, and AJAX techniques
- Experience with utilizing multiple media types within a site (e.g. Flash)
- Tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver.. Illustrator is a plus) design, design, design!
- Experience with Flash/Flex/Actionscript is a big plus
- Experience in building SEO friendly pages a plus
- Knowledge of Linux OS, Apache, Postgresql

EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years (preferably more) professional experience in an interactive agency orweb development and/or design company.
- Knowledge of best practice software development methodologies.
- A personal website demostrating experience and skills, should have a strong portfolio.

EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree or higher.
- Strong team-work, problem solving, and communication skills.
