Ideally, you will have more than 5 to 10 years of referenceable experience with sophisticated multi-tier telecommunications systems projects, specifically with VoIP. You must be a VoIP engineering dynamo were you are not chasing the evolution of VoIP, you are the evolution and others are scrambling to keep up with you. What *is* required is a razor-sharp intellect, well-developed sense of humour, and a passion for doing great work with a great team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The VoIP Developer / Engineer will establish the strategic technical direction for the enterprise products. The selected individual will also lead by example in the development process with a direct hands-on approach. Finally the selected individual will serve as the evangelist of the architectural vision, strategy, and principles to internal staff, industry analysts, and throughout their peer groups.
  
• Manage Cleo Networks VOIP infrastructure.
• Assist in defining Cleo products’ scope and deliverables.
• Manage project schedules to ensure projects completion on time, on budget, and within scope and agreed performance metrics.
• Perform ongoing system analysis to ensure adequate system capacity and performance;
  

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

HARD SKILLS *** MUST HAVES ***

• Detailed knowledge and hands-on experience with VoIP telecommunications protocols including: SIP, RTP, MGCP, H. 323, & MEGACO, also SCCP an asset.
• Detailed knowledge of NAT traversal techniques (STUN etc.), QoS and codecs.
• Understanding of Gateways, Termnination & PSTN.
• Hands on experience in high level development, server backend etc.
• Knowledge of SIP open source platforms & other open source platforms such as Asterisk.
• Experience developing web based systems.
• Understanding of networking, networking protocols and network applications.
• 5+ years of programming in C.
• Linux OS, Apache, Postgresql

SOFT SKILLS

• Excellent research, analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other teams.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment - both independently and in a cross functional team environment.
  

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 5 years (preferably more) professional experience in system architecture development, design, system analysis, and maintenance.
• A minimum of 5 years in the telecommunications industry working in VoIP.
• Experience in development of Voice over IP and Unified Messaging products & services.
• Knowledge of SIP open source platforms & other open source platforms such as Asterisk.
• Knowledge & Understanding of application development for Unix (Lunix & Solaris).
• Intimate Familiarity with voice switching, signaling and transport technologies.
• Knowledge of best practice software development methodologies.

EDUCATION

• Bachelors Degree or Engineering Degree or higher.
• Strong team-work, problem solving, and communication skills.
• CCNA, CCIE, CISSP certifications an asset but not necessary.
